Can you tell us a bit about your business?
Clarity Independent Speech and Language Therapy (CISLT LTD) is an award-winning clinic based in Rayleigh and Chelmsford. We pride ourselves on delivering compassionate, creative, independent speech and language therapy services, to people of all ages throughout Essex.
We offer extensive specialist Speech and Language Therapy services including for Autism, Stroke and Brain Injury, Developmental Language and Speech Sound Disorders, Deafness and Selective Mutism.
What led you to consider a levy transfer?
We were introduced to the levy transfer scheme by our District Council’s Business Growth team. We were initially interested in expanding our team by taking on a Speech and Language Therapy apprentice. However, as we looked into this scheme, we realised that we could use it to support other training needs such as developing our leadership team in our expanding company.
How has the Essex Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Service helped your organisation?
As a small business, accessing levy transfer funding made a real difference. We have used it to support a Level 7 Healthcare Leadership apprenticeship for a team member over the age of 21. Normally, we’d need to contribute 5% of the training costs, which can be a challenge. The levy transfer removed that barrier, allowing us to invest in leadership development and progression without stretching our budget.

Absolutely. It’s a valuable way to invest in our team and support business growth. We’d consider applying again in the future.
